Junkers F-13

ABA operated 8 different Junkers F-13 aircrafts between 1924 and 1938.
Registrations used were:

S-ATAA, S-AUAA, S-AWAA, S-AZAA, SE-AAB (ex S-AAAB), SE-AAC (ex S-AAAC), SE-ACK, S-AUAA

In the collection 3 of the 8 aircrafts are represented.

S-AUAA
Delivered in July 1924.
In service until May 1928 when it was leased to Deutsche Lufthansa for 5 months (returned October 1928).
When returned, in service until April 1929 when it was sold to the Swedish Red Cross.

During its service years with ABA mainly used on the Malmö-Hamburg and Stockholm-Helsinki routes.

Delivered in November 1924.
In service until November 1934. Can be seen at the Technical Museum in Stockholm.

During its service years with ABA it was first used on the Stockholm-Helsinki route. In 1928 it was re-built to carry mail primarily on the Stockholm-Malmö-Amsterdam-London route. During its time as a mail transporter a postal worker used to join and sort the mail during the flight. The narrow postal sorting office from the rebuilt cabin can be seen at the Postal Museum in Stockholm

In service until May 1947 when it was sold to Albin Ahrenberg.

This was ABA's first Junkers Ju-52. Equipped with floaters making it very efficient in the traffic between the Nordic countries.

During a mail flight Stockholm-Malmö-Hannover, first flight for ABA, the aircraft started to vibrate so much from the rudder that the crew bailed out over Virestad in Småland. Written off after 29 hrs of flying for ABA.
