Guernsey Airport

Guernsey Airport is an international airport on the island of Guernsey and the largest airport in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

The airport was officially opened on 5 May 1939. However, regular air services only commenced in October 1946. In the beginning all runways were on grass. The first paved runway was constructed in 1960. Today the runways have been extended in order to handle larget jet aircrafts.

Jersey Airport
[JER/EGJJ]

Jersey Airport, is an international airport located in the parish of Saint Peter, 7.4 km west northwest of Saint Helier in Jersey, in the Channel Islands.

The airport opened on 10 March 1937 with four grass runways. A tarmac runway was opened in 1952 and the grass strips were closed. The runway was lengthened several times over the years, reaching its current length of 1,690 m in 1976.
