AMERICAN AIRLINES

Below are shown my collection of airline issued postcards in colour.

On this web page I present a number of different airline issued postcards in colour by American Airlines.

In many areas of my collection it's easy to group the different cards, either by number or by the look of the address side or even by the stamp box. With the postcards issued by American Airlines it's not that easy. It simply does not work to use the numbering, I can't make any sense of it. The look of the address side is very varying among the cards. So to summarize, I haven't got a clue on how to group these cards.
Any hints are most welcome!

Number of postcards: 20

Color postcards - American Airlines

Postcards issued during the 1950s and 1960s.
The numbering schemes used are T-150x, T-151x, T-152x and T-153x.

Instead of grouping all "T-150x" together, I have grouped the postcards after the looks of the postcard backside, i.e. the logo and slogan on the top left. Right or wrong ...

So here we go!
First some sets of postcards marketing trips to Mexico. Printed text on the backside of the postcards is both in English and Spanish.

The registration of this DC-4 puzzles me a bit ...

N16005 is as far as I have found out used for a DC-3, originally registerred for American Airlines.

This NC16005 seems to be a fake regstration. I can't find it anywhere.
